For Parents

Almost all of the parents that I’ve met through coaching have been the ones to suggest life coaching to their kids and I think that that is very, very cool. I have also coached girls without their parents knowing because their parents don’t believe that being a teenager could possibly be stressful - this is extremely upsetting. My hope is that more parents can realise that being a teenager is no easy task and that times have changed since they were teens!

Whether you have a strong relationship with your child or one that needs a bit of work, I can promise you there are things going on in your babies life that they won’t tell you about. You can try weasel it out of them but there will always be some things left unsaid.  I don’t mean to scare you by saying that, I just want you to be aware that this is totally normal! It’s totally normal to be a teen and not want to share every detail of your life with mum or dad BUT they should be able to share it with someone. Of course they’re going to talk to their friends about who’s crushing on who and bad hair days but often they won’t open up about the deeper things going on, even to their best mates. That’s where I come in.

The most common topics that I coach girls on are; toxic friendships, confidence & self-worth, stress about their grades, and anxiety towards life after high school/uni. All of those topics are ones that I had plenty of experience with myself! Unfortunately I didn’t have a coach to help me through it all which caused a lot of damage mentally and physically. This is why I am so passionate about helping your teens through these weird but wonderful years of their lives.

I run my sessions out of a studio based in the Bishopdale area of Christchurch. If your daughter is in a position to drive herself to their sessions that is great as I don’t actually need to interact with parents face to face. I understand that for the parents that do need to drop off and pick up their child to sessions it can be hard to find a time that works around a work schedule. Not to worry! I run majority of my sessions after 5pm on weekdays and have session times on Sundays for your convenience.
For a while I was also running sessions via Zoom for girls that lived out of Christchurch, this is a service that I now try and avoid as I find in person sessions a lot more effective. In person sessions allow me to pick up on body language and the general flow of sessions are a lot better than online. However, if you are desperate for your teen living out of Christchurch to be coached, I would be happy to discuss it with you further.

Before diving into a coaching programme with your daughter, I like to meet her first (and you too if you'd like!). It’s important to make sure that we’re going to be a good fit and to know that your daughter does actually want to make changes in her life - it doesn’t really work if you just force her to show up! At this meeting I’ll give her a contract and a promise statement to take home and sign should she wish to go ahead with a programme, as the parent (and often the bill payer) you will need to sign the contract too. Then we will sort out session times of mutual convenience.

My coaching package is significantly cheaper than basically all other coaching packages you'll come across and this isn't because it's valued less! My goal is to make an impact while making a living, and it would be hard to make an impact if my services couldn't be utilised, purely because of the cost. The programme is 1 session a week for 4 weeks, then 2 fortnightly sessions (6 sessions in total across a 2 month period).

Please visit my contact page to set up coaching for your daughter or if you have any questions - do not hesitate to ask! If you haven't had a read through my About page then I suggest you take a look at that. I also encourage you to get your daughter to have a read through my website to see if anything resonates.
